Skiing

LAAX is part of the Flims LAAX Falera ski region, the second largest non-linked ski area in Switzerland, and is 90 minutes from Zurich International Airport. The region benefits from a huge range of ski runs, off-piste runs, snow parks and restaurants for all ranges of ability.

With over 220km of slopes, Flims LAAX offers an abundance of terrain to satisfy every level of skier and snowboarder. The resort is one of the most reliable winter resorts for snow and sunshine in Europe, with altitudes reaching up to 3,000 meters. LAAX is also an easy 90-minute transfer from both, Zurich and Friedrichshafen airport.

Although the area is not as high as other Swiss or French resorts, it enjoys a heavily landlocked position. French resorts often experience bad levels of snow due to the hot winds blowing in from the med however the fortunate location of Flims LAAX means this is not a concerning factor.

One the only ski in / ski out opportunity in the Flims LAAX Falera ski region, the rockresort is ideally situated. From LAAX, there is a chair and cable available that takes you up to the heart of the ski region, which then links off to the varied on and off-piste runs.

For the more adventurous, but still cautious skier, Flims LAAX Falera enjoys numerous itinerate runs. Marked in yellow, these are patrolled off-piste runs that provide a more exciting, less crowded experience. For those that are not too familiar with the destination, they provide a safe way to enjoy more exhilarating and challenging skiing.

There are approximately 20 restaurants on the slopes which offer everything from large diner style buffets to exquisite fine dining.

For non-skiers and young children, Pure Destinations can organise sledging, ice skating and also delightful sleigh rides, leaving from Flims village and ending up in a nearby restaurant. Of course the best way to view the Flims LAAX Falera region is from the sky and paragliding can also easily be arranged.
