Why Lower Mill Estate?
Situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, the Lower Mill Estate offers an incredible blend of ecology and contemporary design. One of the UK's most reputable new communities, the Lower Mill Estate has become famous for its award winning spa, highly modern and forward thinking properties and an incredible focus on ecology. This secure and exquisitely designed retreat combines elite executive comforts with the enduring charms of a traditional escape to the English Cotswolds countryside.
Located just outside the historic spa town of Cheltenham, the 550 acre estate provides a wealth of properties that have been individually designed by the world's leading architects, with sustainability and cutting edge design the primary areas of focus, all set on a unique system of waterways.
The three, four and five bedroom homes offer state of the art interior design and appliances and provide a fusion of steel, glass, Cotswold stone, and ancient English oak. The properties are divided into two categories 'five star' and 'five star plus' (which are separate, gated homes) and there is also Howells Estate.
Lower Mill's centrepiece, Howells Estate is a private enclave that includes a restored 1830's Cotswold barn, a kids only den that sleeps eight, a modernist steel and glass 'Hide' that stretches out over the lagoon, an eco garden, pool, paddock and a range of leisure equipment.
All of the properties are within a short walk of the spa and on-site shop and enjoy waterfront positions. Pure Destinations can also organise anything from helicopter or chauffeur driven transfers, private catering, VIP access to local events or personal trainers, all through the on-site 24 hour concierge.
Young professionals, groups of friends and families alike will be blown away by the tranquillity of the estate. The incredible ecological advancements are there for all to see, with trails and guides available to provide guidance on the wealth of wildlife.
Butterflies, badgers, beavers, otters, deer, kingfishers, nightingales, egrets and owls have all been encouraged to reside on the estate. Careful stewardship and conservation over many years has now seen the Lower Mill Estate thrive into one of the UK's leading nature reserves.
Pure Destinations says...
"Due to the location of the estate, there is a real feel of traditional England, which initially seems a bit strange when you're staying in a state of the art home! Whilst the spa is fantastic and perfect for relaxation, the real fun is out on the water. The guys on-site can tell you the best spots for fishing, you can also wind-surf which is always a laugh. In the evening the Wild Duck Inn is absolutely spectacular. Old ales, exposed beams, a jovial atmosphere and incredible food make it a must.
I also like to head to the Cheltenham racecourse when I can and I get to the Festival most years. To stay in a five star property that is close to the racecourse and with an abundance of fun local pubs, the Lower Mill Estate is an excellent choice. Of course if you want to head back the course a bit early for a spa treatment that's also a nice option!"
