Goldeneye

This fully staffed three bedroom property is the former home of 007 James Bond creator Sir Ian Fleming and typifies peaceful, no nonsense Jamaican culture. Designed by Fleming himself, Goldeneye sits on a cliff over a beach and is where he penned all of the 13 famous spy novels.

The focus of the property is on free flowing, relaxed Caribbean living with shutters instead of glass in the expansive windows to allow for maximum enjoyment of the views and sea breezes and private outdoor bathtubs and showers.

What Fleming loved most about Goldeneye was the out of doors, nature, the sounds and colors, the peace and drama of living by the sea. He delighted in "the blazing sunshine, natural beauty and the most healthy life I could live."

The furnishings in the house are from East Asia and include oversized bamboo sofas and an enormous Balinese platform couch in the separate media room. The master bed is also a sizeable bamboo structure, again designed by Fleming, and enjoys views out across the estate and ocean beyond. Now owned by music recording legend Chris Blackwell, founder of Bob Marley and U2, the Goldeneye estate is a haven of peace and tranquillity and has been frequented by Johnny Depp, the Clintons and Scarlett Johansen to name a few of the dozens of celebrities to have enjoyed this exclusive home.
